The Capilano river descends from the North Shore mountains into Capilano Lake, a reservoir that provides a large portion of Vancouver's drinking water. The Capilano River Regional Park extends downstream from Cleveland Dam (which forms the lake) into a spectacular canyon complete with dramatic cliffs, green pools and old growth trees.
