The Lake Ann trail is located in the Mount Baker Wilderness Area, in Washington State, a mere 2 hours from Vancouver. It starts near the end of the Mount Baker Highway, already in the subalpine, and takes you through a paradise of meadows and wildflowers, streams and ponds, alpine lakes, rock slides. Pushing on, you can walk in the shade of the vertical rock walls of Mount Shuksan and get tantalizingly close to the Lower Curtis glacier.
