We selected this hike near Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park based on its multiplicity of bear warnings. See - after four years of roaming the BC mountains without luck, we wanted to see a bear. Badly. And so we went. No matter that, at one point, it ascends 400 metres in one kilometre. Or that those leaden skies looked ready to pour on us. We were on a bear mission. And we got to see lots of bears... er, make that deer.
