Heliotrope ridge is one of Mount Baker's most famous hikes, and rightly so. Two easy hours and some rock hopping reward you with breathtaking views of the Coleman glacier and the peak of Baker itself. The return trip involves crossing creeks that swell as the day goes on, and makes for good fun in trying to avoid getting your feet wet.
