Saint Mark's is the first peak on the Howe Sound Crest Trail, which starts in West Vancouver, and covers over 40 km to end just short of Squamish. From St. Mark's one is supposed to have some fantastic views of the Howe Sound waters below and the peaks of the Sunshine Coast across. That, however, presumes that one can see further than one's own nose. I went twice - the first time we were in the middle of thick clouds, with less than 100 metres of visibility. The second, a low cloud ceiling allowed us tantalizing glimpses of Howe Sound down below, but the cold make sure we did not linger. We are not done with you yet, St. Mark's!
