These pictures were taken in de Vall de Boí and the Val d'Aran, in northeast Catalunya, Spain. Boí is famous for its many Romanesque churches, dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. Arán is the most isolated of the valleys of the Pyrenees. The locals still speak an ancient dialect, and the architecture and geography look nothing like what you may thing of as Spain.
